After conferring with a colleague, I entered an [issue](https://community.opengroup.org/osdu/platform/system/indexer-service/-/issues/239). It seems to be similar to a problem (so far unreported) that another colleague is finding.
UPDATE: on 3 April 2025 the above is issue is fixed on Google Cloud. See the same link above.
