AWS: Fixes user token timeout when a lengthy reindexing is started

Fixes user token timeout when a lengthy reindexing procedure is initiated by using a service principal rather than the user's more temporary tokens.

Note: this is based on a stale master branch. The pipeline stages for GCP are failing because this is based on a stale master branch. The branch this was based on is here, where the pipeline is also failing for those same issues.
