**Introduction**
The Seismic Data Management Service (Seismic DMS) provides a single consistent path to access and store specific Seismic data objects, regardless of the domain workflow. This consistency enable customers and partners to gain meaningful and relevant value while preserving the richness of their data.
As can be seen below, the Seismic DMS is located at the heart of the OSDU data platform leveraging its common services for indexing, authentication, security etc. while adhering to its usage patterns and common behavior for client isolation, data lifecycle etc..
It will include type-safe entity access and optimized accessors for bulk data of many data entity types such as Seismic 3D, Seismic 2D, Seismic PreStack, Survey, ect.

Details on the contribution can be found [here](/osdu/platform/domain-data-mgmt-services/seismic/home/-/wikis/Contribution).
One of the principal of followed in the design of the Seismic DMS is to allow the storage of seismic data in different format, so as not to impose a transformation on ingestion and allow the user to keep the data in the original format.

**Seismic DMS Architecture**

The high level architecture of the Seismic DMS is depicted on the image below. (More details on the architecture and sequence is captured [here](/osdu/platform/domain-data-mgmt-services/seismic/home/-/wikis/Architecture%20Details)
