This is the wiki chapter on developing **OSDU Multi-Region Deployments** and operations/support into **Release 3**.
### In Scope:
Basic multi-region capabilities including:
- deployment of homogeneous OSDU instances in multiple geographic regions
- configuration to enable sharing and replication of data among the multi-region instances
- designation of one region as an 'Admin Region' for hosting administrative functions
- designation of one region as a 'Central Region' for hosting development and deployment infrastructure
### Out-of-Scope:
- In-country hosting outside of cloud provider storage (to be addressed in a future release)
