The Frequently Asked Questions topic is meant to contain a curated set of often asked questions together with their common answer. It is created by reusing content from the Discussion Board.
Note: ArchiMate® Model Exchange File Format will be abbreviated to AMEFF.
What's the difference between "ArchiMate Models" and the "Repository" of this space
The "Repository" of this space is designed to host Curated Content which has been previously shared through Discussions, while "ArchiMate(R) Models" is a subgroup containing GitLab projects used by Workgroups to create models. This means that the first step is to get an agreement on a workgroup creation with at least:
- One owner (who will be responsible for workgroup management)
- Another participant
- One purpose
When done, then a GitLab project can be created under “ArchiMate Models” subgroup and access rights can be provided accordingly. Workgroup members can then collaborate using whatever tool or workflow they want (but there must be a version of the model provided using the ArchiMate Model Exchange File Format)
I have a model to share and would like people to contribute. Should I create a Workgroup?
No. The first thing to do is to share the model (using AMEFF and, if possible, PDF) in the Discussion Board to explain its purpose, context... and explain that you're open to contribution. Then, depending on feedback from the community, a workgroup might be created to maintain it (which would then lead to the creation of a dedicated project under "ArchiMate Models").
